New Equipment

The time it takes you to speak this is a target time frame to get a decent shot. All you have to do is hold the shot steady, and this becomes a usable shot. Get this shot and then try to fine tune the controls to improve upon how the camera sees the environment.
This past week, I had the opportunity to use camera equipment that none of our team was familiar. We all figured out different tricks to this camera, and shared what we learned. We compared the device to others that operate similarly, some things we thought were ingenous, while improvements could be made in other departments.
Now, the first time I used it for the project, I hadn't even turned it on. A stage rehearsal wa beginning, and we were there to document the event. The cast came in, dropped their stuff, and joined on stage in a circle. The exercise they did together brought in the focus of the evening.
As I was logging footage, I randomly performed a ctrl-y to preview what was catured. In this case - it was my attention to what I was watching. The reverse shot of a cast member looking towards the stage as the rest of the cast filed in.
...and then it dawned on me that this was my shot. I did ok. I look to carry this experience to my next, and at least get a good five second roll on "a shot" --then sweeten it up with zoom/tilt features after you breathe through a nice--
--One 1,000-Two 1,000-Three 1,000-Four 1,000-Five 1,000--to get a good, clean shot.
We should all "take 5" and breathe into the Moment.
